Cassandra's Birthday

So after the amazing
Birthday Cassandra gave me the pressure was mounting as her Birthday approached
in February. (Yes over 2 months ago) I really wanted to do something fun and
exciting for her 22 birthday. She had said about 5 month prior that she had
never had a surprise birthday party thrown for her, so naturally I went about
trying to get that organized. After calling many places and being told they
offer great birthday party packages the phone call always seemed to go downhill
when the party planner would ask "ok Mr. cannon how many kids ages 6-12 do
you plan on coming?" "None." "None?" "Yeah,
None" "Well, now I am a little confused I thought you were planning
on having a Birthday Party." "Yeah for my wife and her friends."
"Oh I am sorry we don't do adult birthday parties" So after about 5
different calls like that I decided to Google search for adult birthday parties.........also
not a good idea. In the end the decision was made to go ice skating. I rented a
room at the Eccles Ice Sheet here in Logan and called all her friends to come
and surprise her.

As soon as I got off work I came home and changed and we headed out for our “Birthday Date” and she had no idea about the surprise party or the surprise gifts I had hidden all
around the valley. We went and saw the Muppets (mostly to kill time before the
party started) and really enjoyed it. Once we got back in the car I told her
that she had to find her presents and handed her a riddle on a card. That
started us on a scavenger hunt all across the valley to Old Main on campus to
First Dam then our house and many many other places in between. At each stop
she would get a small wrapped gift or another card with clues to the next
location. She found them all and really quick, she is a smart gal.
The last clue was to lead her to the Ice Skating Rink where everybody was there waiting
for us. As she figured out the clue to get us there she still had no idea that
there was going to be a surprise party and we walked in and she was confused at
first but when everybody yelled “surprise!” she got a huge grim across her
face. It is that grin that makes me so happy. That grin made all the planning
and plotting worthwhile. It is that grin that I live for. It is that grin that
no matter how stressed I am makes all my worries melt away. I love that grin.
And she had that grin for the rest of the evening while we ice skated and had
great food and good times. I can’t wait for next year’s birthday.

Cruise to the Carribean

It's about time we post about our cruise! It was the best honeymoon ever! (aside from our actual honeymoon to Park City of course). I am so glad we did it when we did. Hey, we're poor college kids but you only live once right? And luckily we were able to use most of the money we received from our wedding. So the cruise was 6 nights. The port was in Fort Lauderdale, FL and we set sail on January 2 2012 and came back on January 9, 2012. We left our home on January 1 (Happy New Year!) and flew to Denver and had a 9 hour layover so we stayed over in the cutest most hospitable hotel ever called the Country Inn and Suites! Then proceeded to Florida on to our ship! :) We stopped in two places: Jamaica and the Bahamas. We were originally supposed to stop in three, the first one being the Grand Cayman Islands. We had great plans to go to the turtle farm there! But the weather was too bad that they had to close their port! Bummer :( But it was still beautiful and magical and everything I ever dreamed of for a cruise!

Leaving our home for the Cruise!

Goodbye winter hello summer!

LOVED the Country Inn and Suites!

Fort Lauderdale port

Just leaving the port

BEAUTIFUL blue water!

Fort Lauderdal skyline

Every night our housekeeping would clean our room and make a cute animal! Can you tell what this is??

We are so happy!!

Having the BEST hot chocolate in the world! It was so thick, it was like a chocolate bar was melted

Can you guess what this one is??

Jamaica! Our first stop! (Since we didn't stop in the Grand Caymans)

On our ship they had a chocolate dessert extravaganza one night. Amazing! And we could eat the chocolate too! :)

This bouquet is made of vegetables!

Beautiful watermelon art!

Chocolate dragon

Vegetable bunny

Enjoying our chocolate! Attractive right?? ;)

I only put this one on for Steve because he thinks it's so cute! (Ugh! haha)

Chocolate castle

Our actual cruise ship in chocolate form!

Do you know what this one is?? It's tougher because it doesn't quite look like it's supposed to (hint: it's not a snail, it's a mammal on it's belly!)

Eating dinner on formal night at the fancy restaurant! Don't we look sharp? (Steve sure does!) ;)

This one is pretty easy :P

Such beautiful sunrises at sea

Loving the orange chairs and showing off our tans (yes that's as tan as Steve gets) ;)

We're silly!

I love this man!

Swim with the sharks in Jamaica! We didn't, but I took a cool picture :)

Swim with the stingrays in Jamaica! We didn't do that either :)

BIG fish

The Jamaican Silk Spider...creepy!

We did swim with the dolphins in Jamaica!! :)

The camera man caught us! Hehe

Our dolphins name was Mitch. Best experience on the Cruise!

Riding Mitch!

Kissing Mitch! HEHE

He liked Steve! :)

Mitch dancing for us

We climbed Dunns River Falls in Jamaica as well! You should check out pictures it was so neat!

They were the coolest climbing shoes! Steve almost wanted to buy them and wear them to school to start a fashion statement...I told him no...haha

Eating Jamaican Jerk pork and goats curry! Really authentic, really spicy, but also really good!

Beautiful bahamas! What do we do? Go snorkeling duh!

Steve got me and underwater camera for Christmas just for the cruise and we got some cool pictures with it! :)

Hehe cutie!

Steve wanted the shell so bad that he let the crab die for it...the shell is now sitting in our living room...I have to admit it is really pretty

Soaking up the sun

No alterations on these pictures! Literally white sandy beaches and BLUE water! We couldn't believe it ourselves

Coves where the fish lived!

We really did...

You have to play the Ukelele on the beach in the Bahamas! People loved it and even sang along! I should have used Steve's hat to get some money ;)

LOVED our cruise! Wish we could go back!!
